OSCE’s Chairperson-in-Office and Serbia’s Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić, Secretary General Lamberto Zannier, Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Ambassador Ertugrul Apakan, and OSCE Envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group Ambassador Heidi Tagliavini, met today in Belgrade to plan further steps in responding to crisis in Ukraine.
On April 11 and 12 the situation aggravated around Donetsk and in Peski. The intensity of attacks by Ukrainian security forces increased significantly, including the use of heavy guns noted by the OSCE monitoring mission in their reports. Fighting also intensified significantly at Mariupol in the area of Shirokino. Locals reported of massive use of artillery by the security forces. There was a relative lull in Lugansk People's Republic. There were local shootouts on Bakhmutka and near Stanitsa Luganskaya.
