KIEV, April 2. /TASS/. Ukraine’s Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko has said that no one has discussed with her the possibility she might be appointed prime minster.

In response to a remark by a Ukrainian Pravda correspondent to the effect that for the past two weeks everybody has been discussing her likely premiership, Jaresko said: "No, absolutely no. I have my own position and responsibilities. I am not interested, nobody has been talking to me. That’s impossible."

Of late, a number of experts in the Ukrainian mass media speculated that Jaresko was a likely successor to Arseny Yatsenyuk in the capacity of the country’s prime minister.

An analytical bulletin of the International Centre for Policy Studies, Inside Ukraine, said that the falling ratings of Yatsenyuk and his political party Popular Front created objective conditions for reformatting the Cabinet of Ministers. The government is under the fire of criticism from the Radical Party. Batkivschina dislikes its performance, too. And President Pyotr Poroshenko is keen to establish control of the Cabinet of Ministers. In a situation like that Jaresko’s candidature for premiership is optimal for the president and for the West. According to the Razumkov Centre pollster, if elections were to be held now, the Popular Front would end up with 4.6% of the votes, failing to enter the Verkhovna Rada.
