Ukraine's Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk should hand in his resignation, a parliament lawmaker of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc told local TV-channel "112".

"If they want to save the coalition, let's save the coalition, but Yatsenyuk must step down," Verkhovna Rada member Oleh Barna said against the background of the prime minister's recent initiative.

Earlier, Arseniy Yatsenyuk offered some members of the coalition to leave because the coalition should be "real," unn.com reported.

The coalition in the Verkhovna Rada comprises five factions: the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, the Radical Party, the People's Front, the Self Reliance party, and the Fatherland party. The coalition was formed on November 21, 2014. More than 300 of its lawmakers ensure the majority in the 450-seat parliament.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk took office on February 27, 2014. In March 2015 he admitted the loss "of a quarter of the Ukrainian economy."
