Radicals clashing with policemen during Equality March in Kiev

KIEV, June 8. /TASS/. Radicals from the Right Sector organization outlawed in Russia are demonstrating near the building of Kiev’s Oblon district court, demanding to release those detained during Equality March held in the Ukrainian capital on June 6, a TASS correspondent reported from the scene on Monday.

On Saturday, more than 300 people took part in the Equality March took place in Kiev. The participants in the march were attacked by radicals who broke through the cordon and threw firecrackers at the demonstrators. Nine policemen were injured in the clashes. As a result, law enforcers detained 25 people.

The court is currently considering the punishment for eight people detained in the clashes.

Along with Right Sector members, activists of the Patriots of Ukraine and Azov battalion are taking part in the demonstration.

MPs Igor Mosiychuk from the Radical Party and Oleg Petrenko from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc are attending the court session.
