Proposals on amendments to Ukraine’s constitution sent to officials — DPR envoy

DPR and LPR envoys to the Contact Group on Ukrainian settlement Denis Pushilin and Vladislav Deinego

MOSCOW, July 6. /TASS/. Proposals on introducing amendments to Ukraine’s constitution have been sent by representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics (DPR and LPR) to Verkhovna Rada Speaker Vladimir Groysman, OSCE special envoy Heidi Tagliavini and Martin Sajdik who replaced her in this position, DPR envoy to the Contact Group on Ukrainian settlement Denis Pushilin told TASS on Monday.

"We have already set the date for election. Yet again, we are waiting for the Ukrainian law that needs to be coordinated with us. We will coordinate it, and we sent it to Groysman, OSCE [Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe], coordinators Tagliavini and Sajdik, sub-group on politics. This is a compromise law, according to which we are ready to hold elections," Pushilin said.

LPR envoy to Contact Group Vladislav Deinego noted that the article on election is one of the key points in the Minsk accords. "The key issue here is election. We set the dates. We announced that we will implement these and other points [of the Minsk agreements] regardless of Ukraine’s position and will wait for Ukraine to return to this process," Deinego said.

Kiev said earlier it did not receive proposals from DPR and LPR on amending the Ukrainian constitution.
