Right Sector Militants Hideout Village Evacuated - Ukraine Security Service

KIEV (Sputnik) — According to the statement, the detainees will be transferred to Kiev to objectively investigate Saturday's shootout between the Right Sector ultra-nationalist militia and Ukrainian police in the western town Mukachevo.

"Taking into account the danger for the villagers in the area where the so-called Right Sector militants barricaded themselves, the evacuation of civilians, especially children, is being carried out. In order to avoid possible bloodshed, the Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs demand from the illegal armed formation to lay down their arms and surrender," the official statement reads.

The SBU and the Ministry of Internal Affairs expect the leader of the organization Dmytro Yarosh to convince his supporters to lay down their weapons, as the barricaded militants agreed to turn themselves in if Yarosh addresses the attackers.

According to the Ukrainian security forces, three attackers were killed and a total of 10 people, including five law enforcers, were injured in the incident.

The Right Sector actively participated in clashes with Ukrainian riot police, that ended in the February 2014 coup.
