MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has suggested earlier that allegations of corruption and smuggling by the Right Sector toward police and officials of Ukraine's Transcarpathian region were justified.

"Making another concessions to the neo-Nazi Right Sector, the Ukrainian authorities are encouraging extremists once again," Dolgov said on his Twitter.

On Saturday, a shootout between police officers, employees at a local business and Right Sector militants in western Ukrainian town of Mukachevo left 3 people dead and 13 injured, according to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry.

The militants claimed they were fighting against smuggling allegedly brokered by local officials, insisting that it was local police that had started the shootout.

Later that day, the Right Sector launched protests in several cities of Ukraine, including Kiev and Lviv.

The Right Sector militant group engaged in violent clashes with police under the previous Kiev administration, which resulted in the February 2014 ousting of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
