KIEV, July 17. /TASS/. Ukraine’s Security Service has prepared a decision on an anti-terror mission in western Mukachevo (Ukraine's Transcarpathia), head of the Service’s Anti-Terror Centre Gennady Kuznetsov said on Friday, the Ukrainian Independent News Agency reported.

The official said however "the decision is not made yet."

On July 11 some 20 militants of the Right Sector extremist organization, banned in Russia, during a conflict with their opponents with whom they discussed "distribution of influence areas", opened fire from small arms.

The extremists then opened fire from assault rifles, heavy machineguns and grenade launchers at police officers who arrived at the site, destroyed several police vehicles, as well as set on fire a traffic police checkpoint and a filling station. Three people were killed, and another 11 were wounded. Prosecutors classified what happened in Mukachevo as a terrorist attack.

Earlier on Wednesday, first deputy head of the Luhansk Military-Civil Administration Mikhail Pukhtayevich told TASS that Moskal, who has until recently led the Luhansk Military-Civil Administration, has been appointed Transcarpathian Region governor.

"A meeting of the military cabinet of the National Security and Defense Council took place, and the decision to appoint Gennady Moskal Transcarpathian governor was made," Pukhtayevich said. He added that Moskal is already in Transcarpathia.

Moskal had been governor of the Transcarpathian Region in June 2001 - September 2002.

The heads of all district state administrations of the Transcarpathian Region have turned in their resignations, Transcarpathian Regional State Administration head Vasily Gubal said at a news conference on Wednesday. He confirmed that after a report on his resignation, "acting heads of district state administrations turned in their resignations," the Transcarpathia Online portal reported.
