KIEV, August 28. /TASS/. Next local election in Ukraine after October’s vote will take place in two years after amendments are made to the country’s constitution, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said on Friday.

"Another election will be held after voting on amendments to the Constitution and assembling a normative basis for decentralization. And I am confident that those elected by Ukrainians will be worth those powers that they will be granted by the constitutional reform," he told the joint session of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc — Solidarity and UDAR party.

Poroshenko stressed that there will be no federalization or "special statuses" in the country. "No federalization. No statuses. And that is what we will vote for in the parliament on Monday [August 31]," he noted.
