According to the Donetsk People’s Republic, the junta’s punitive squads shelled Donetsk with phosphorus ordnance last Saturday night.

The sources specify that the use of outlaw phosphorus ordnance war reported in Donetsk’s Petrovski District near Mandrykino rail station. The also inform that active military operations continued in Donetsk through the night. ‘Petrovski and Kuybyshevski districts of the capital also came under fire’, the DPR sources say.

The most difficult situation is still in the area around Donetsk Airport where the main Ukrainian force is trying to break through defenses in order to help out the Ukrainian Army units marooned there.

The local authorities report interruptions in power and water supply. Civilians are unable to leave the combat zone as Kiev has denied  them in providing safe passage. Many young children are still in town. People hide in underground basements to save their lives from bombs and shells.

We are reminding our readers that phosphorus ordnance is banned by a Geneva Convention. A representative of the Russian General Headquarters said last Friday on Russia24 New Channel that the Ukrainian government forces had used phosphorus ordnance at least six times against targets in the South-East.
