MOSCOW, April 14. /TASS/. Representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) and journalists have got under fire near the settlement of Shirokino in Donbass, a Donetsk News Agency correspondent reported from the scene on Tuesday.
The shelling continued for about half an hour, Donetsk News Agency said. No one was injured in the incident.
Earlier today, Zvezda TV channel journalist Andrey Lunev was blown up on a tripwire near Shirokino. Zvezda TV channel said on its website that Lunev sustained serious injuries to the head and legs.
The incident occurred during the trip of OSCE and JCCC representatives to Shirokino. "A Zvezvda journalist was inspecting the ruins, when he stumbled upon a tripwire that exploded. The TV channel journalist sustained serious injuries to the head and legs. At the moment of explosion, the journalist was not wearing a bulletproof vest," the TV channel said.
The settlement of Shirokino, located between Mariupol and Novoazovsk controlled by the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), is one of the most tense areas of the contact line. Four JCCC observation posts are set up in Shirokino.
Ceasefire in Ukraine
On February 12, negotiations in the so-called "Normandy format" were held in the Belarusian capital Minsk, bringing together Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. The talks lasted for around 14 hours. Simultaneously, a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukrainian settlement was held in Minsk.
As a result, the Minsk agreements were signed that envisage ceasefire in Ukraine’s south-east, heavy weaponry withdrawal, prisoner exchange, local elections in Donbas and a constitutional reform in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian forces and DPR and LPR self-defense forces have repeatedly accused each other of violating the ceasefire regime in Donbas.
