Right Sector beats up a public activist in Kherson for showing disrespect to Bandera

Radicals from the Kherson branch of the Right Sector (extreme right Ukrainian organization that played the key role in the armed coup in February of 2015) huddled up in order to beat their ideological opponent after he claimed that he did not respect Stepan  Bandera (Hitler’s collaborationist during WWII).

The incident occurred in the course of the meeting of a public council in the building of the Kherson State Administration.

“He answered to the questions of our brothers inadequately and aggressively. After a verbal squabble he produced a sharp object looking like a prod, and started to wave it; for this he was punished by “educational beating” on the part of our militants. The representatives of the “democratic community” saved him from the just wrath. They appealed to our tolerance and urged to act in the framework of the legislation in force”, — boasted the Right Sector representatives.

Nevertheless, as can be seen on the footage of the brawl, the Right Sector distorted the events in their description. The video shows the Right Sector activists attacking a member of the public council, and he has no “prod-like object” in his hands. Instead we can clearly see a gun in the hand of one of the thugs, which he is repeatedly attempting to use.

Notably, the most active one among the RS thugs, as the video proves, was Andriy Nalyvaiko (wearing a blue jacket), a suspect in the murder of one and wounding of two policemen. He was detained, but later released under the pressure of Euromaidan activists.
